All right so this is Lenovo Legion five review. It’s actually 5i, but the two variants are 5 and 5i and the difference is one.
AMD is an Intel i
AMD is an Intel i Intel version, but the experience and hardware is going to be equally between the two. It should be one of the most awaited gaming laptops for 2020 as its original price point is that they should now be as I think I charge eight or nine hundred rupees at the base price so this is a very interesting device.
The essorfor the y5 40 was a very well reviewed device and it’s just like the 20/20 version, they’ve given a whole bunch of stuff, but there’s stuff you know about going into this particular purchase Should be okay.
Let’s start with its design. It has been changed a bit ever. In terms of its design aesthetic, it is very clean and mature as if it does not have any kind of gamer. It is probably the least gamer gaming gaming laptop.
That I have read. It also seems clearer than the razor blade, as it has no snake logo and accessories, it’s just like a very simple top lid and a very simple one inside which we’ll get to the top in a second.
Legion logo it does not light up anymore. It is also in a different state from last year if I remember correctly and there is also a new badge like a metal insert which simply says that Lenovo now feels well given to the whole laptop.
Does Make it Plastic
Does make it plastic but it feels durable this is strange that i got a bunch of emails from you guys in relation to the hinge i really can’t see any issues with it i think it last.
The year has the same hinge design as the 540 and 570 which were very good. I think these would be nice and at the same time you would see me eating my words in a few years when these things burst into people’s faces.
I think Well they are good though. I didn’t mention before, but the Army logo is liked. It’s faint for an iridescent shimmer, but there’s okay t he displays here, so we have a 144hz 1080p panel.
Hey, it is very fast for gaming, it makes its color bright. I like the screen very much though it has an upgraded panel. The torrent panel is a 60 Hz screen that you know if you’re getting a gaming laptop.
That’s how I would go for a higher first screen, but this is also the third option for a 120 Hz lower brightness screen, which I personally recommend.
Not that I haven’t specifically seen from Lenovo, but it’s listed 215 and so from my experience. 215 It’s totally fine just to browse the web and do stuff, but if you’re playing games it’s just doesn’t seem so bright that you don’t get a 250 NAT screen.
If you can avoid it, I just spend the extra money. The webcam has been moved from the bottom of the screen to the top to get the 144 Hz option this year.
That’s great and they have a privacy filter this year so you can kill this switch and it will cover the webchem physically. Technically you will be more secure if you are worried about e and I like the feature that I think more laptops in general should have a physical cover on the lens such as this one.
A is the optional slide as if it’s simple, but it’s like I think it’s pretty cool.
The keyboard I like is the keyword in general. I think most people would like this keyboard to have a number pad so everything has shifted to the left if you know that you disturb the symmetry, but I think Lenovo often does this with mid-level devices of its kind in which they include just a number pad but the actual keyboard.
The experience is on point and it’s got white backlighting that really cleans up the trackpad, it’s nice that it doesn’t have dedicated physical buttons like last year designed to run on the trackpad like a real click on other gaming laptops.
Lots of, but it’s still a good trackpad and my favorite part about this keyboard is oh, it’s really nice soft touch stuff and what I’ve seen from last year’s stuff, like this stuff I have Is like a friend of mine has 5:30 and I am worried about Lenovo’s material.
It may be that he is doing heat or overtime, but the model last year remains and it feels exactly the same to me so I think it’s going to be a durable soft touch material, this machine performs quite well, I’m running a six core Intel processor within the Artix 2060 and it’s not the regular 2060 max-q version, so it’s a bit more powerful than other competitors.
It’s pushed to max q devices, it’s a reasonably cool system. Is good to see and fans don’t get loud and they also have keyboard shortcuts so you can switch between display modes so you can go between this and high-performance and cool mode, but this year they have the power button has this colorful LED that lets you visually know which mode you are in.
Looking at the power button now this year they still do not have manual fan control that I have talked about something las te year I want.
Device you can control the fans simply by Yourself
That’s on such a device you can control the fans simply by yourself, so if you are doing something Even if you need better performance then you can crank it up, but you can’t that it works very well through those three settings, but I like my manual alright so inside you have big.
There are fans that they attach to the rear and behind a SSD Wi-Fi card and two RAM slots with a good heat pipe or a good thermal system.
Two shroud, but remove them and you have access to them and the battery is not particularly large. It’s a 60 watt-hour battery that is similar to last year’s battery life and I’m getting three and a half hours on it, it’s Hopefully it will be a small battery.
I think there is an option for a larger battery, but then it just removes the SATA cage, so you get a slightly larger battery, but no hard drive that I did notice.
That if you’re like there’s room for a second nvm ‘removed the hard drive cage which just seems to be e. It’s the right amount of space for a secondary nvme that I’ve never really seen anything like where the space is so Well engineered. If you remove the hard drive cage then there is room for nvme.
This is very good ok because the interior of the system has speakers on the left and right and they sound like gaming laptop speakers.
Not terrible, but they are not great ports on this device so the vast majority of ports are behind on these Lenovo Legion devices.
That machine I really like is a full clean. The USB C port doesn’t support the usual three, so you don’t have access to it if you need it, but there are four USBs because the back two and each There is one on the side so this healthy dose of using BA on the system is fine, so it is a very solid system overall.
If you recall at the beginning of this video, I mentioned that the starting price of this thing 850 or $ 900, but it’s a little bit.
There’s a bit of that twist that pricing only applies to Rison AMD versions and once you get this thing out with an Intel chip it’s pretty much Expensive.
It’s actually more expensive than I thought it sounds like. I don’t know. 150 should be more than 200 and the thing here is that Lenovo stuff goes on sale very often. We talk like a special Black Friday.
Are not doing and back-to-school stuff. It’s on sale constantly, so you just need to be diligent and watch this stuff. Pricing and grab it when it is on sale because if you buy this thing at full retail price, I don’t think it’s really worth the money as if it’s okay.
It’s not great if you sell it. However, I think it is very good so yes you make sure that you buy this thing on sale if you now have a second device that I want to talk about because if you are interested in 5 If you are interested in this thing as well it is Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3.
Last year it was named like a different moniker, but it is the 2020 version and also an eight $ The 900 is the kind of device I was going to review on this, but I decided to wait for it to come even earlier.
Talked about this because here I don’t think it’s worth getting because of the existence of this machine, it’s basically an inferior product because it’s not manufactured in every way and at the same time its performance is worse, Worse is thermal.
It’s a small battery. A demerit goes on the list of screens. Idea gaming pad 3 is an inferior product. 5 It’s cheaper like 150 bucks, but if you run the market for something like this and you Can’t afford to save the IdeaPad until you can’t afford this one just because it’s a better product that I think will also last longer because of the better thermal performance on it.
